Heavy-Duty PCP Reeling Cable is a 0.6/1 kV flexible round cable for motorized cable reels operating under high tensile, bending, and torsional loads. TEBAOFLEX uses a wear-resistant polychloroprene construction with a protective support braid to help demanding mobile equipment maintain reliable cable movement.
Heavy-Duty PCP Reeling Cable for High-Load Reel Duty
This cable family is designed for continuous industrial reeling where speed, acceleration, and mechanical stress are significant. Its two-layer sheath system and short-pitch stranded core assembly improve axial rigidity. Consequently, the cable is suitable for equipment that needs a compact yet robust solution for repeated winding and unwinding.
Typical Applications
- Motorized cable reels on port cranes and heavy lifting equipment
- Vertical and horizontal high-speed reeling systems
- Transfer cars, bulk-material handling equipment, and automated machinery
- Equipment exposed to high combined tensile and bending loads
- Selected temporary underwater applications where the installation conditions are reviewed in advance
Robust PCP Construction
Particularly flexible Class 5 bare electrolytic copper conductors are insulated with an EPR-based rubber compound. The conductors are stranded in short-pitch layers around a central plastic reinforcement. In addition, a protective support braid between the inner and outer sheaths helps resist torsional stress. The final yellow outer sheath uses a wear-resistant polychloroprene compound.
| Component | Confirmed construction |
|---|---|
| Conductor | Bare electrolytic copper, Class 5 |
| Core insulation | EPR-based special rubber compound |
| Central reinforcement | Central plastic reinforcement |
| Support braid | Protective braid against torsional stress |
| Inner sheath | Polychloroprene (PCP) |
| Outer sheath | Wear-resistant polychloroprene (PCP), yellow |
Electrical, Thermal, and Chemical Performance
The Heavy-Duty PCP Reeling Cable is rated at 0.6/1 kV. It operates from −35°C to +80°C during flexing and from −50°C to +80°C in fixed installation. Moreover, the conductor temperature limit is 90°C in normal service and 250°C under short-circuit conditions. The PCP sheath construction is oil-, ozone-, UV-, and humidity-resistant, while remaining low-flammability in accordance with IEC 60332-1.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Rated voltage Uo/U | 0.6/1 kV |
| Maximum conductor temperature | 90°C |
| Flexing temperature range | −35°C to +80°C |
| Fixed installation range | −50°C to +80°C |
| Short-circuit conductor temperature | 250°C |
| Flame performance | Low flammability, IEC 60332-1 |
Reeling and Installation Guidance
The cable supports horizontal reeling speeds up to 240 m/min and vertical reeling speeds up to 120 m/min. For reliable service, specify a minimum bending radius of 6 × cable outer diameter on the reel and 7.5 × outer diameter over diversion rollers. Furthermore, allow at least 20 × outer diameter between two changes of direction in S-type guide arrangements. Final cable selection should consider reel geometry, acceleration, tensile load, travel distance, and ambient conditions together.
| Mechanical parameter | Confirmed value |
|---|---|
| Horizontal reeling speed | Up to 240 m/min |
| Vertical reeling speed | Up to 120 m/min |
| Tensile load-bearing capacity | 30 N/mm² |
| Minimum bending radius on reel | 6 × cable outer diameter |
| Minimum bending radius over diversion rollers | 7.5 × cable outer diameter |
| Minimum S-type directional distance | 20 × cable outer diameter |
