Application & Operating Conditions
110 V Flexible Underground Mine Lighting Cable is purpose-built for permissible 110 V / 120 V underground machine lighting harnesses (continuous miners, roof bolters, loading machines, longwall chock luminaires) as well as suspended tunnel, shaft-station, and belt-transfer point lighting strings. Its chemically cross-linked flame-retardant polyolefin insulation and extra-tough thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) outer jacket resist rock-fall impact, coal abrasion, hydraulic emulsion, and repeated flexing through luminaire packing glands.
Permissible Face & Machine Luminaires
Tight ±5% outside diameter control ensures leak-tight sealing inside MSHA explosion-proof / permissible stuffing-box glands on continuous miners and roof bolters.
Longwall Chock & Drift String Lighting
Multi-core 2-conductor through 9-conductor builds allow switched multi-zone luminaire daisy-chaining, ground-fault monitoring, and pilot interlocks in a single cord.
Cut-Resistant TPU + Optional Cu Braid
Extra-tough black or optional safety-orange TPU resists rib snagging and boot traffic; optional full copper braid shielding adds mechanical and EMI protection.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Technical FAQs on luminaire stuffing-box compatibility, conductor gauge selection, and braided shielding.
Which core counts and gauges are most commonly used on permissible underground machine lighting systems?
3 × 14 AWG and 4 × 14 AWG (0.510 in and 0.550 in nominal OD) are the most popular harnesses for machine-mounted permissible LED and fluorescent headlights/area lights, providing hot, neutral, equipment ground, and an auxiliary switched control leg.
How does the extra-tough TPU jacket perform in wet coal-slurry and hydraulic-emulsion environments?
Mining-grade polyether/polycaprolactone TPU resists hydrolysis, high-water-based longwall hydraulic emulsions, diesel mist, and sharp roof-bolt plate edges without swelling, cracking, or stiffening.
Can TEBAOFLEX supply this 110V mine lighting cable with an overall copper braid shield or orange safety jacket?
Yes. Both full tinned/bare copper braid shielding beneath the jacket and high-visibility Safety Orange TPU outer sheaths are available on custom factory runs with short lead times.
