What Is UL 3122 Silicone Fiberglass Braided Wire?
UL 3122 silicone fiberglass braided wire is a single-conductor high-temperature hook-up wire for protected internal appliance, lighting, heater and electronic equipment wiring. The construction combines a copper conductor, flexible silicone rubber insulation and an external fiberglass braid. Rated for 300 V and conductor temperatures up to 200°C, it is selected when the installation needs heat resistance, a flexible silicone wire body and added braided surface protection.
TEBAOFLEX confirms the required AWG, conductor finish, stranding, insulation colour, fiberglass braid, marking, reel length and end-use conditions before supply. Outside diameter and conductor resistance depend on the selected AWG and strand construction, so the tables on this page are selection references for the requested build.

Construction and Material Features
UL 3122 silicone wire uses a tinned or bare copper conductor inside a silicone rubber insulation layer, followed by a fiberglass braided outer layer. Silicone rubber supports flexible routing in high-temperature equipment, while the braid gives the outside of the wire a durable textile finish. For the 20 AWG reference construction, the conductor is 21/0.180 mm tinned copper, silicone insulation thickness is 0.48 mm, fiberglass braid thickness is 0.15 mm, and finished outside diameter is 1.85 ±0.10 mm.
Reference colours include black, white, red, yellow, green, blue, brown, grey, orange and violet. Custom colours, printed identification, cut lengths, reel lengths and packaging can be reviewed for the order quantity and intended application.
UL 3122 Silicone Wire Size and Dimension Table
The following values cover common silicone fiberglass braided wire constructions. Choose the AWG and strand construction together because a change in conductor construction changes the finished wire diameter.
| AWG | Conductor construction | Resistance at 20°C (Ω/km) | Conductor diameter (mm) | Silicone insulation (mm) | Overall diameter (mm) |

Applications and Installation Considerations
Typical uses include high-temperature appliance wiring, electric heater wiring, lighting equipment, heated household equipment, control assemblies and protected internal electronic connections. The silicone insulation supports flexible installation, and fiberglass braid is useful where a braided silicone wire surface is preferred for the equipment layout.
UL 3122 wire is intended for protected internal equipment wiring. It is not a general statement of suitability for building wire, direct burial, unrestricted outdoor exposure, continuous drag-chain movement or every oil, chemical and abrasion environment. Confirm the equipment standard, terminal temperature, bend condition, mechanical protection and environmental exposure before selecting the final wire construction.
How to Specify UL 3122 Silicone Rubber Wire
For an accurate quotation, provide AWG, tinned or bare copper conductor, solid or stranded construction, insulation colour, braid requirement, printed marking, reel length, quantity, operating temperature and end-use equipment. For a replacement project, an existing wire marking, drawing or sample helps TEBAOFLEX confirm the required construction.
For fluoropolymer alternatives, compare UL 1815 PTFE 250°C 300V high temperature wire and UL 1659 PTFE 250°C 600V wire and cable. Browse the complete high-temperature and specialty cable range.
UL 3122 Silicone Fiberglass Wire FAQ
What is UL 3122 wire?
UL 3122 wire is a 300V, 200°C silicone rubber insulated and fiberglass braided high-temperature wire construction for protected internal equipment wiring.
What is the difference between silicone wire and silicone fiberglass braided wire?
A silicone fiberglass braided wire has a silicone insulation layer plus an outer fiberglass braid. The braid changes the exterior surface and adds a distinct construction layer for applications that specify a braided outer finish.
Which conductor sizes are available?
The reference size range is 16 AWG to 26 AWG, with several strand constructions available for selected sizes. The requested AWG and strand construction should be confirmed together.
Can the colour, marking and reel length be customized?
Yes. Provide the required colour, marking, reel length and quantity with your inquiry. TEBAOFLEX will confirm availability for the requested construction.
Is this wire intended for outdoor or direct-burial installation?
No. It is intended for protected internal equipment wiring. Assess the final environment and equipment requirements before selection.
