Medium-voltage TBM reeling cable for tunnel power supply
(N)TSCGECWOEU is a screened, flexible medium-voltage power cable designed for reel-fed tunnel boring machines. It combines three power cores with control, protective-earth and monitoring elements in one rubber-sheathed cable. This layout helps engineers specify TBM power transmission and cable-monitoring functions together, while the exact monitoring circuit and termination must be confirmed for the selected machine.
TEBAOFLEX has two related technical schedules: (N)TSCGECWOEU and (N)TSCGECWÖU. Their names look similar, but the listed diameters, weights and temperature limits are not identical. Quote or order against the exact schedule and core configuration.
Choose the correct voltage and source variant
| Datasheet variant | Listed voltage grades | Moving-duty temperature | Published dimension rows |
|---|---|---|---|
| (N)TSCGECWOEU | 6/10, 8.7/15, 12/20, 14/25 and 18/30 kV | −20 to +90 °C | 6/10 through 18/30 kV, by listed configuration |
| (N)TSCGECWÖU | 3.6/6, 6/10, 8.7/15, 12/20 and 18/30 kV | −25 to +90 °C | 3.6/6, 6/10 and 12/20 kV in the supplied schedule |
The second schedule names 8.7/15 and 18/30 kV as voltage grades but does not supply dimensional rows for those grades. Ask for a build-specific drawing and datasheet before specifying them.
Where this cable is used
Typical applications are TBM power reels and mobile medium-voltage supplies in tunnel construction. The cable should be specified against the actual reel geometry, route, travel speed, pulling force and electrical load; the published limits are not a blanket approval for every mining, tunnelling or continuous-flex installation.

How to specify the right TBM cable
Provide the exact variant spelling, rated voltage, power-core cross-section, protective-earth and control-core arrangement, monitoring interface, reel diameter, travel distance and speed, S-turn layout, expected tensile and torsional loads, installation temperature, cable length and quantity. State any exposure to water, oil, chemicals or abrasion so TEBAOFLEX can check the required construction rather than assume a performance level that has not been established for the selected build.
The two technical sheets use DIN VDE 0250-813 as a design reference. Referenced standards and tests do not, by themselves, establish third-party certification for every configuration. Request the applicable test evidence and certificate for the exact product offered.
Frequently asked selection questions
Are (N)TSCGECWOEU and (N)TSCGECWÖU interchangeable?
No. They are related TBM reeling constructions, but their published dimension schedules and moving-duty temperature limits differ. Specify the exact name and row from the relevant datasheet.
Does every voltage grade have a published size?
No. The available dimension rows depend on the source variant. For example, the (N)TSCGECWÖU schedule lists voltage grades beyond the 3.6/6, 6/10 and 12/20 kV rows shown here; request a drawing for an unlisted configuration.
What information is needed to select a TBM reeling cable?
Start with voltage, conductor size, load and protective-earth requirements. Then provide the reel and cable-path geometry, motion profile, environmental exposure and monitoring-circuit requirements. These determine whether a documented build is suitable or a project-specific configuration review is needed.

Request a configuration review
TEBAOFLEX can review the required voltage, conductor and monitoring arrangement, motion conditions and project quantity against the documented options. Final construction, tests, delivery and commercial terms are confirmed for the specific enquiry.
