What Is UL 1815 PTFE Wire?
UL 1815 PTFE 250°C 300V high temperature wire is a single-conductor hook-up wire for protected internal wiring in electronic equipment, appliances, instruments and heat-exposed control assemblies. Its PTFE insulation, compact wall thickness and plated copper conductor options make it useful when an equipment designer needs heat resistance, electrical insulation and a small finished outside diameter. The reference product range covers 10 AWG through 30 AWG and is available in multiple conductor strand constructions.
TEBAOFLEX reviews the requested AWG, conductor finish, strand construction, insulation colour, marking, reel length and application before confirming the final build. Finished dimensions and conductor resistance vary by the chosen stranding, so the selection table should be read as a construction reference rather than a universal dimension for every wire variant.

Construction and Material Options
UL 1815 PTFE wire combines a plated copper conductor with a PTFE insulation layer. Nickel-plated copper can be selected for high-temperature equipment wiring, while silver-plated copper may be evaluated where the customer specifies that conductor finish. PTFE is a fluoropolymer insulation selected for high-temperature hook-up wire applications where compact dimensions and reliable electrical insulation are important.
Available reference colours include black, white, red, yellow, green, blue, brown, grey, orange and violet. Custom colour, striping, print legend and packaging should be specified with the quotation request.
UL 1815 Wire Size and Dimension Table
The following 300V PTFE wire values are reference constructions. Select the AWG and strand construction together; changing the stranding changes the conductor diameter, resistance and finished outside diameter.

Applications and Installation Considerations
Typical uses include appliance wiring, electronic equipment wiring, instruments, heating equipment, control assemblies and compact high-temperature electrical connections. A 250°C PTFE wire can help route conductors through equipment zones with elevated temperatures where general-purpose PVC insulated wire is not appropriate.
UL 1815 PTFE hook-up wire is intended for protected internal equipment wiring. It is not a general statement of suitability for building wire, direct burial, unrestricted outdoor exposure, high-flex drag-chain use or every fluid and chemical environment. Confirm the finished-equipment standard, terminal temperature, bend radius, abrasion protection and environmental exposure before selecting a final construction.
How to Specify UL 1815 High Temperature Wire
For a precise quotation, provide the required AWG, conductor finish, solid or stranded construction, insulation colour, printed marking, reel length, quantity, maximum conductor temperature and end-use equipment. For replacement work, an existing wire marking, drawing or conductor sample helps TEBAOFLEX verify the required construction.
For a higher-voltage PTFE construction, see UL 1659 PTFE 250°C 600V wire and cable. For FEP high-temperature hook-up wire, compare UL 1330 FEP hook-up wire and UL 1331 FEP hook-up wire. Browse the high-temperature and specialty cable range.
